Abstract
It has been shown that a minimum of detergent power of soap solution exists at a concentration corresponding approximately to that of maximum soap hydrolysis. This minimum can be removed by adding substances which suppress soap hydrolysis. An explanation of the low detergent power of dilute soap solutions is given, and the effect of adding sodium carbonate to the solution is discussed. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
