Abstract
A partial least squares multivariate calibration approach, based on solid-phase extraction and excitation–emission matrix fluorescence using flavonol as fluorogenic reagent in a Triton X-100 micellar medium, is proposed for the determination of triphenyltin (TPhT) in sea-water. The calibration model is built from sea-water samples of known TPhT concentrations, and requires four factors for prediction. The method, which has a precision of 0.4% and a detection limit of 0.56 ng l 1, was shown to be suitable for TPhT monitoring in sea-water.
