Abstract
Antisera were prepared against 26 isolates of C. equi. A capsular antigen preparation was made by washing a heavy suspension of individual C. equi isolates in saline overnight. Isolates (97) from a variety of sources were tested by a double diffusion immunoprecipitin test and 7 capsular serotypes identified. The majority of isolates belonged to capsular serotype 1 (59.8%) and 2 (25.8%). No clear relationship was established between capsular serotype and the source of origin of the isolates (disease processes in horses, pigs, man, cattle, dogs or cats). This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
