Abstract
Renal glutaminase activity in rats is not changed by hypophysectomy, nor is it affected by adrenalectomy. Plasma glutamine levels in rats are not affected by adrenalectomy. The lowered ammonia excretion seen in adrenal insufficiency may be secondary to lowered ability to excrete acid, rather than to any inherent defect in the ammonia forming mechanism. Keywords
