Abstract
A study of the hearing levels of a random sample of the rural population of the UK indicated that the threshold of subjective auditory handicap was age dependent and couldbe given by the expression log10 y = 0.0185x + 0.145, where y is hearing level in dB ISO (average of the values at 500, 1000 and 2000 Hz) corresponding to threshold of subjective auditory handicap and x is age in years of subject. Keywords
