AUTOMATIC CONDUCTIVITY MEASUREMENTS OF CO2

Abstract
Air drawn over photosynthesizing tissue passes as small bubbles into dilute NaOH soln. contained in an absorption tower fitted with Pt electrodes. The bubbles are diverted from the electrodes by means of a glass trough. The space between the electrodes is filled with bubble-free NaOH soln. of constantly changing conductivity. The tower is wired as one arm of a Wheatstone bridge and the conductivity is recorded automatically on a recording ammeter.
