Abstract
Summary: The paper includes an introduction to, and a systematic list of observations made in Iraq from August 1952 to August 1954. At least six species appear to have been added to the Iraq list, and at least six breeding species to the list of breeding birds in Iraq. The extension of breeding range, winter range, summer range and breeding seasons of several species is discussed. The migratory seasons of many species are noted and the westerly passage of Hirundinidae and Motacilla sp. in late summer is recorded. Keywords
