Abstract
A pulsed laser deposition technique has been used to grow diamond films from an organic liquid target in the presence of reactive gases H2O2/O-2. The technique is simple and safe to operate and the cost of source material is much lower than that in a chemical vapor deposition. The results provide a strong evidence that hydroxyl ions OH-, together with atomic oxygen can indeed promote diamond growth. (C) 1995 American Institute of PhysicsKeywords
