Radiological Diagnosis of Salivary Gland Disease

Abstract
The relation of the embryology, gross anatomy and histology of the salivary glands has been reviewed in relation to their sialographic appearances and to the radiographic technique; a certain reorientation of existing teaching emerges. The procedures evolved have been applied especially to the diagnosis of the obstructions and infections of the parotid, which are classified on a clinical and sialographic basis. The bacteriology appears to run fairly closely parallel with the other features, while the ætiology in the various groups is different.
