Abstract
The biological half lives (T/2) of pork insulin and partially purified preparation of non-suppressible insulin-like activity (NSILA) from pork plasma were determined in the isolated perfused rat liver. With flow rates of 25-30 ml/minute in this system, the T/2 of insulin was 14 min. in contrast to a T/2 for NSILA of 63 min. The prolonged half life of NSILA is consistent with the apparent lack of change of NSILA in clinical and experimental situations. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
