Abstract
The threshold ionization of atomic hydrogen by electron impact has been studied using the classical three-body collision theory. The calculated energy distribution of the two outgoing electrons appears to be in agreement with the behaviour predicted by Wannier and Rau (1971). The energy dependence of the orbital momentum acquired by the two electrons is found to be proportional to E-0.5, in disagreement with results obtained by Cvejanovic and Grujic (1975).Keywords
