Abstract
An anterior pituitary prepn. was injected into fasting mice and the distr. of lipid in the tissues and between phospholipin, cholesterol ester and glycerine detd. Bovine plasma albumin, as an inert protein, was injd. in the controls. As shown by Best and Campbell (Jour. Physiol. 86: 190, 1936; 92: 91. 1938), there was an increase in the lipids of the liver and kidneys and decrease in other tissues, with greater total utilization of lipid. These changes involved chiefly the glyceride fraction, and the amt. of lipid transferred appeared to depend on the glyceride content of the tissue. The rat responded similarly. Keywords
