Abstract
The effect of feeding cinchophen on the secretory activity of the Brunner''s glands was investigated in 8 dogs with isolated duodenal fistulas. The volume, alkali content and mucin content of the juice were greatly depressed by cinchophen admn., recovery occurring upon withdrawal of the drug. Morph. changes were observed in Brunner''s glands but not in the overlying crypts of Lieberkuhn after cinchophen treatment. The possible relation between cinchophen induced ulcers and Brunner''s gland secretion is discussed. Keywords
