The Keeping Properties of Some Colour Photographs

Abstract
Dark storage fading of a slow and a fast colour-developed positive film, at various elevated temperatures and at two relative humidities has been measured, at the wavelengths of maximum absorption of the three component dyes. Results have been extrapolated to give rough estimates of cold storage time before perceptible colour chang~s occur. These are between ca. 1 and JO years for the fast and ca. 2 and > 50 years for the slow film, under wet and dry conditions respectively. Activation energies of the dark reactions for yellow components vary with type of film and with humidity conditions, from ca. 9-32 kcal/mol, rising with increasing dryness of the atmosphcre.
