Abstract
It has been shown by many studies that mesangial cell contraction exerts considerable influences on glonerular filtration dynamics. However, experimental findings about the geometrical changes within the glomerular tuft going along with mesangial cell contractions are lacking. This study analyzes the geometry of mesangial cells and their relationship to glomerular capillaries, especially to the glomerular basement membrane (GBM).Keywords
