Abstract
Starting with the canonical equations of a general, linear, bilateral network in the steady state and by the use of matrix algebra, the general theory of four terminal networks is deduced. By the use of simple matrix multiplication the parameters of complicated structures are determined, and the exposition is concluded with a discussion of the matrix theory of the general artificial line, the smooth line, and the general ladder structure. Keywords
