Abstract
ε-Carotene was isolated from previously known sources and its spectral and adsorption properties compared with those of a similar carotene recently observed in Cryptomonas ovata. Identity was established. Similar comparisons with synthetic ε1-carotene point to the identity of the natural and synthetic compounds and permit assignment of KARRER and EUGSTER's formulation for ε1-carotene to the naturally occurring representative.This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
