Abstract
Small acoustical transmitters may be used to obtain data from free swimming fish. The main principles behind this technique are described together with some of the equipment developed. Some examples are briefly discussed where heart beats, depth and temperature are measured to describe fish behaviour. Automatic fish tracking equipment that has been used to track fish within an enclosed area is also describedKeywords
