Abstract
The two-phase titration of miconazole, econazole and clotrimazole in vaginal tablets and suppositories, creams and lotions using indophenol blue as a hydrophobic indicator and sodium dodecyl sulphate as a titrant is proposed. The accuracy and precision of the method are good. The non-interfering substances that are present in the pharmaceutical preparations are reported. Imidazole, a possible impurity in imidazole derivatives, does not interfere. Keywords
