Abstract
Cross sections for the resonant collisional excitation accompanied by the capture of the incident electron to a Rydberg state, and subsequent decay of this state by radiation emission, are estimated for the target ion. They are typically of the order of 1∼2× when averaged over an energy-bin size of Ry, dominated by the high-Rydberg-state contribution.
