Several studies in the published literature suggested that: (a) reaction time (RT) slowing with increasing adult age may be different for men and women, (b) RT slowness is related to cardiovascular symptoms, to (c) depressive affect symptoms, and to (d) little physical exercise. Results of the present study corroborated the second and third suggestions, but not the first. It was also found that physical exercise seems to be associated with quick RT in young adults, but not in elderly ones. RT relationships with education level were also seen, but interactions between each of these factors and age were not.
