Abstract
An investigation of the effect of directional orientation on the dc magnetic properties of cube-oriented([001] (100) textured) 3% silicon iron sheets has been made. Induction values for a field of 10 oe (B10)followed the relationship B10 = Bs/(cosθ+sinθ)where Bs is the saturation induction and θ is the average angular deviation of the 〈100〉 direction from the rolling direction. A plot of B10 values as a function of the percent of grains with a 〈100〉 direction within 10°of the rolling direction showed that very good directional orientation is required to obtain high B10 values. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
