Abstract
The conventional vibronic Raman theory of Albrecht and the full quantum approach of Peticolas and co‐workers are compared and the physical conditions for their equivalence are discussed. It is found that Peticolas’ theory takes into account also the nonadiabatic coupling and that, under proper assumptions, it is equivalent to the newer formulation of Mingardi and Siebrand. Keywords
