Abstract
Homemade skateboards have been a passion of children for many years. Formerly these were relatively slow-moving, clumsy objects which children sat or kneeled on for scooting along on sidewalks. Recently, manufactured, high-speed, sleek versions intended for standing "Snoopy" fashion and zooming downhill have been marketed with great success. Serious accidents directly related to skateboards are appearing in such numbers among the school-aged children in Brookline, Massachusetts, that we feel it important to report the hazards of this new product. Keywords
