Abstract
The migration of chloride in the blood was first investigated by Hamburger (1) who showed that when blood is exposed to increased tensions of CO2there is a shift of chlorine ions from the plasma into the corpuscles. This phenomenon is known as the Hamburger phenomenon or chloride shift.Keywords
