Abstract
Enzymes which cleave penicillin-V and penicillin-G were isolated from Fusarium semitectum and Escherichia coli respectively and their kinetics studied. The course of the reaction, the influence of substrate concentration and the dependence on pH and temperature were determined by the Warburg method or by the iodimetric method for penicillin. The Michaelis constants, the temperature coefficients and the activation energies are given. The possibility of interpreting the enzyme reaction as an adsorption phenomenon as opposed to a mass action effect is discussed. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
