Abstract
The authors evaluate the magnetoelastic contributions to the coefficients in the free energy which determine whether the ground state of neodymium is single Q, double Q or triplet Q. They also develop a model free energy which leads to a second-order polarisation and wavevector reorientation phase transition at a temperature somewhat below the Neel transition. Keywords
