Abstract
The vectorcardiogram of anterior cardiac infarction shows a constant deviation of the loop from the site of infarction, best seen in the horizontal plane. A similar deviation of the loop away from the site of infarction is seen in posterior infarction[long dash]best seen in the frontal plane. It is concluded that Q waves represent a recession of the QRS loop away from the site of infarction rather than a transmission of negativity from the cavity. Keywords
