Abstract
A computationally efficient method for determining the frequencies of closely spaced sinusoidal signals in noise is described. The performance of this new method is experimentally shown to be superior to other linear prediction based methods, both in bias and variance of the frequency estimates. The method can be viewed as an extension of Prony's method in which the effects of additive noise are mitigated. Keywords
