Foam Separation for Water Clarification

Abstract
An experimental investigation is presented of a foam separation-flotation process for the removal of colloidal particulates producing turbidity in low-quality raw water supplies, using a cationic surface-active agent. Batch foaming studies include the effect on the synthetic turbidity separation efficiency of pH and of the presence of monovalent, divalent, and trivalent inorganic cations and anions, and of soluble organics.
