A preliminary survey of the effects of some antibiotics on the incorporation of amino acids by a nuclear fraction of young chick blastodiscs

Abstract
A "nuclear fraction" from young chick blastodiscs incorporated lysine and leucine into polypeptide in vitro. The system was only slightly inhibited by high concentrations of cycloheximide, puromycin, and nuclease enzymes, but was markedly inhibited by chloramphenicol and dinitrophenol. Protein extracted by 0.2 M HCl was labelled by lysine in vitro.
