Abstract
Bantam hen nests were equipped with inverted wire-mesh baskets into which eggs were transferred upon laying. The hen stopped ovulation when the egg number reached the normal value for each hen. The same occurred when eggs were exchanged with larger eggs. Hens seem to judge their clutch size based on visual observation of egg number. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
