Abstract
In this communication will be discussed the transference aspects ot the patient’s relation to the hospital. This will first be differentiated from the transference relation to the different persons in the hospital. Early ‘oral’ aspects, expressing themselves in an attitude of demanding dependency and a low frustration level for separation-like experiences, are of great importance. These transference relations may be hidden behind a behaviour that seems to have more connection with higher levels of development. The structure of the hospital administration is often indicated as the main way to counteract these regressive tendencies. Administrative and structural measures should be accompanied by psychothera-peutic interpretation of the transference aspects.
