Abstract
In obese patients with normal glucose tolerance norepinephrine-induced lipolysis in vivo was significantly higher as compared with a non-obese group. This was observed both during weight-related and constant norepinephrine infusion. In the obese group there was a discordant release of free fatty acids [FFA] and glycerol and a significantly lower quotient of FFA/glycerol than in controls. In obesity the re-esterification of FFA is probably increased. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
