Abstract
Three cases of advanced Waldenstrom''s macroglobulinemia (2 with severe cryoglobulinemia) were treated for 6, 4 and 3 yr, respectively, with regular plasma exchange and, during the last 2 years, also with short courses of cytostatics [prednisone, melphalan, cyclophosphamide, vincristine, teniposide]. The plasma exchange regimen gave the patients a marked relief from hyperviscosity symptoms and may have contributed to the improved peripheral blood values and lowered P[plasma]-IgM levels. Addition of cytostatics was necessary to obtain a lasting remission. Keywords
