Abstract
Recently published data on near GeV and Ge are investigated using (i) the model-independent Chew-Low extrapolation technique and (ii) fixed- dispersion relations. The data are not accurate enough to allow the Chew-Low fit to give an unambiguous determination of . Using fixed- dispersion relations we obtain . The effect of resonances other than the is small.
