Singleπ+Electroproduction atw≈2GeV and the Pion Form Factor

Recently published data on $\mathrm{ep}\to \mathrm{en}{\pi }^{+}$ near $w=2\mathrm{}$ GeV and $0.0<\left|k^2\right|<\mathrm{}1.0\mathrm{}$ Ge${\mathrm{V}}^2$ are investigated using (i) the model-independent Chew-Low extrapolation technique and (ii) fixed-$t$ dispersion relations. The data are not accurate enough to allow the Chew-Low fit to give an unambiguous determination of $F_{\pi }$. Using fixed-$t$ dispersion relations we obtain $F_{\pi }\left(k^2\right)=\frac{1}{(1-\frac{k^2}{0.5} {\mathrm{GeV}}^2)}$. The effect of resonances other than the $P_{33}$ is small.
