Abstract
Kernel hardness, measured as grinding time, of seed from plant-rows extracted from the spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) parents of a previous study, showed that Cal 3, thought to have had medium-hard kernels, was in fact a mixture of soft and hard plants plus a few intermediates. This explains unexpected results. Parents Cal 9, Cal 25 and Cal 13 were each homogeneous for plants with soft, hard and very hard kernels, respectively.Key words: Wheat, Triticum aestivum L., medium-hard kernels, grinding time, geneticsThis publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
