Abstract
The Formosan termite, Coptotermes formosanus Shiraki, was discovered in Hallandale, Fla., in 1981. In a 1982 survey undertaken to determine the distribution of this termite, a combination of tack traps, two types of light traps, and pool surveillance was used. Pool surveillance and hanging light traps proved impractical. The city area encompassed by tack traps that captured Formosan termites was approximately 97 km2 in a mostly northwestern direction from the first reported infestation. Trap data suggest that Formosan termite colonies have multiple flights during a season. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
