Improvement in performance of long haul EDFA linkusing highfrequency polarisation modulation

Abstract

The authors demonstrate that polarisation modulation at twice the clock frequency gives both a large improvement in Q and a significant reduction in Q fluctuations, on a transoceanic length EDFA system.
