Abstract
A 36-yr-old female patient developed eczema from wearing gold jewelery. Epicutaneous skin tests were performed with gold leaf, potassium dicyanaurate, gold sodium thiosulphate, gold chloride, sodium chloroaurate and potassium bromaurate. The test was postive with gold sodium thiosulfate only. Blast transformation was induced with all the gold salts except sodium chloroaurate and the positive responses seemed to be dose-dependent. In vitro gold salt-induced reactions are useful in the diagnosis of allergic contact dermatitis. Keywords
