Abstract
Renal failure, which developed in two patients with sickle-cell anemia, was treated by maintenance hemodialysis for six and seven months. Medullary cystic disease appeared to cause the uremia in a 32-year-old black man with sickle-cell anemia; in the second patient, a 24-year-old black woman, histologic changes in a renal biopsy were consistent with So-Called "sickle nephropathy."Keywords
