Abstract
Holograms with high diffraction efficiency were obtained in nominally pure LiNbO3 by the drift process under the influence of the internal or the external dc fields. The diffraction efficiency reached as high as 60%. Self-enhancement phenomena were observed in normal holograms. Thermal decay of the holograms can be characterized by two activation energies, 0.34 eV below 90° C and 1.1 eV above 90°C. The activation energy for charge redistribution due to steady illumination during reading was about 0.2 eV.Keywords
