Abstract
Using data on the rate of flow of cerebrospinal fluid from the aqueduct of Sylvius, on the volumes of the ventricles and on the volume of the subarachnoid space in adult cats, calculations have been made of the rate at which new fluid replaces old in the different parts of the cerebrospinal fluid pathway. In the course of 24 hrs. it appears that fluid in the lateral ventricle is renewed 17 times; in the 3rd ventricle, 60 times; in the 4th ventricle, 75 times; and in the sub-arachnoid space, between 4 and 5 times. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
