Significance of Fundal Hemorrhage in Predicting the State of the Patient with Ruptured Intracranial Aneurysm

Abstract
The data of 201 patients with ruptured intracranial aneurysms were reported. In 49 cases (24.6%) fundal hemorrhages (FH) were found uni- or bilaterally. FH were classified according to their sites and shapes. The presence of FH indicated a bad prognosis in patients with SAH [subarachnoid hemorrhage]. This is why FH should always be regarded as an additional risk factor. The development of FH which accompanies SAH was discussed.
