Abstract
The effect of an external magnetic field on the static screening of a charged impurity in a metal is investigated through the `distribution function' approach and with the help of a `quasi-classical' model for the electron plasma. The effect on the screening is of second order and is rather small for ordinary fields. The calculation has been done for T = 0, but can be generalized to non-zero temperature.
