Abstract
Extractive differences between the roots of healthy Douglas-fir trees and those infected with Poria weirii Murr. have been demonstrated by the technique of thin-layer chromatography. Of these the most important are the absence of dihydroquercetin-3′-glucoside in root sections with advanced decay, the presence of an unknown non-phenolic constituent in healthy roots, and the presence of an unknown phenolic extractive in decayed roots. The complete absence of quercetin, quercetin-3′-glucoside, and aromadendrin in either root bark or root wood eliminates them from any possible participation in this study. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
