Electron-impact ionization of atomic hydrogen from the 1S and 2S states

Abstract
We present results from R-matrix with pseudo-states (RMPS) and convergent close-coupling (CCC) calculations for electron impact total ionization of the 1S and 2S states of atomic hydrogen in the energy region from threshold to 100 eV. Particular attention is given to the near-threshold region. We find the results for energies more than 2 eV above threshold to be in excellent agreement with the available experimental data.
