Abstract
The effects of equi-efficacious doses of the cholesterol-lowering drugs simvastatin (20 mg day-1) and pravastatin (40 mg day-1) on tests of cognitive function were investigated in a double-blind, placebo-controlled, 2-period (4 weeks per period), incomplete block, crossover study of 36 patients (24 per treatment) with hypercholesterolaemia. After 4 weeks neither of the active treatments differed significantly from placebo on any cognitive measure. Keywords
