Abstract
Support material in the 10–20 mesh range allows the use of very long preparative scale gas chromatographic columns. Characteristic of such columns is their versatility. A 75 m × 9 mm coiled glass column filled with a 10–20 mesh support coated with 10% SE 30 silicone gum separates ml quantities of hydrocarbons, aromatics, halogenated substances, ketones, esters and even alcohols. The chromatograms show typical distortions. Keywords
