Abstract
Computed tomographic (CT) findings in a case of surgically proven acute mesenteric vein thrombosis are described. Gross symmetric edema of bowel wall over a long segment of jejunum was present, associated with a very edematous mesentery. Previous reports have described radiography, barium studies, angiography, and nuclear scintigraphy in the investigation of this condition. The use of CT has not been previously described and appears extremely helpful.
